For our first Sunday in Romania, we drove to a church four hours away from our host’s home in Pestere.  We were welcomed by the pastor’s family and treated to a magnificent homemade meal (featuring the most tender pork I’ve every had in my life).  We were, then, given a couple of the rooms to rest in before church started, so a few others of my team and I took the opportunity to nap.  It was so refreshing.  When we woke, we walked to the church with the family and joined the service.  Two of our team gave testimonies and I played two songs on the guitar (Housefires’ “Yes and Amen”, and Hillsong’s “New Wine”).  We really enjoyed the time spent with them, but it went by so quickly.  We left shortly after the service ended and drove the four hours back to Pestere.

On the way back, I started feeling a bit carsick (which never happens to me).  We got home and I guess it just caught up to me because I was sick and sitting on the bathroom floor just shortly after that.  Luckily, I have a great team leader and an even better friend who took care of me and didn’t leave me alone on what could have been a bad night.  I haven’t gotten really sick on the Race (one of the most amazing blessings ever).  This, to me, means today is one of those odd moments where I have a choice to wallow or to worship.

So, here I am, still nauseous and laying on the couch at just past midnight writing this to say I’m choosing to worship.  God is so good.  He moved today in a church in Romania and I got to see it.  How cool is that??!  Thank you, Jesus, for good food and great time spent in fellowship with believers here.  Thank you, Jesus, for giving me life and loving me through hard things (’cause throwing up is the worst).  Thank you, Jesus, for healing, for good friends, for purpose, and for you just being you and showing up in a little town in Romania.

Jesus is amazing.  Just thought I’d remind you.
